At least members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints claim their definition of the “trinity” comes from God Himself. The Chalcedonian doctrine can claim no such provenance - so what makes it more correct?

Where in Scripture does it say that the Trinity is three gods? Where does it say that God is an exalted creature?

I didn’t say it’s in scripture that you recognize. I said that their church claims it’s straight from God via modern revelation.

The Chalcedonian doctrine is the result of many clever people discussing together and drawing conclusions from scripture - but with no claim to confirmation from God that they got it right.

You don’t have to agree with the LDS church. I was just pointing out that their doctrine is internally consistent with their other beliefs. So calling it non-Christian because it mis-aligns with another view of Jesus Christ is mostly an exercise in terminology.

It would be correct to say that it isn’t the same as your Christianity. But there are other doctrines that claim that same title.
